People often say, “Think big if you want to do big things.” It sounds inspiring, almost poetic — but have you ever paused and asked, how can someone think big when they don’t even have enough to start?
The truth is simple yet powerful: our resources shape our dreams. The more support, tools, and opportunities we have, the larger our imagination dares to grow.
Take, for example, a poor child in seventh grade. He dreams of earning two to ten lakh rupees per month someday — and that’s already huge for him. Meanwhile, a rich child dreams of founding a company worth crores. Both are “thinking big,” yet their idea of big comes from their realities.
Here’s another thought. If I only have 100 rupees in my pocket, I won’t dream of coffee at a five-star hotel — I’ll think of the local tea stall, because that’s within reach. It’s not that I don’t want to dream big, it’s just that my situation defines what “big” means to me.
So, before you judge someone’s dreams, remember: people dream according to their resources, surroundings, and life conditions. Saying “think big” is easy — but when life is hard, that phrase can feel like a luxury.
Yet, there’s beauty hidden in this truth. Every grand dream begins with a humble step. Each small, honest effort brings you closer to something greater. Maybe today you lack the means, but with willpower and faith, you can create them tomorrow.
Start where you are, with what you have. Dream just a little beyond your reach — and keep growing. Because every big dream, no matter how grand it becomes, is born from one small, real step. something just a little bigger than what you can reach now and then keep growing. Because big dreams start with real and small steps.
